Fully sharpened knives are worth their weight in gold. This applies particularly for contractors, who require optimum cutting quality throughout the harvest season, even when time is at a premium. And if knife sharpening can be made a pleasure rather than a chore, the fully automatic AQUA NON STOP knife sharpener has achieved its aim.
“This machine is a real boon as far as we are concerned”, says Leon Schade, a mechanic and driver employed at the Stotz contracting firm, who also likes to do the knife sharpening. “The boss has made everyone happy with this machine. And I have to admit that with the old system even the grinding quality was less than satisfactory." The special quality of the grinding result was also a key consideration in the decision to buy the fully automatic machine for the firm's managing director, Peter Stotz: “I have ground some knives in my time, and I know what this job entails. And I know for sure that even with a semi-automatic system you never get the grinding precision that this CLAAS machine delivers.”
Bernd Wittrock has a weakness for knives, and likes to look after them. He is a qualified agricultural engineer, and managing director of Hans Wittrock Landtechnik GmbH, based in Rhede in the Emsland district. As well as selling agricultural equipment, he designs and markets special products for very specific purposes. These include the CLAAS AQUA NON STOP COMFORT, which has drawn outstanding feedback from his customers: “It gave us short straw of real samurai quality - exactly as my sensitive hens like it”.
