The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ASABE) AE50 Awards program annually honors 50 products that demonstrate the highest level of innovation, significant technical advancement and impact on the market served. Along with six other CLAAS machines and technologies - TRION 740, CEMOS for tractors, DISCO 9700 RC AUTO SWATHER, the double roller drive for the DISCO 3600 FRC, VARIANT SMART DENSITY and the new VARIANT net wrapping system - the new XERION 12 large tractors were also honored this year. “We are delighted about the renowned AE50 Award for our new XERION 12 series,” emphasizes Johannes Weisbrodt, Senior Vice President Product Unit System Tractor. “After two high-ranking awards at Agritechnica, this award is another great confirmation of our XERION development team and its years of work, and underlines the innovative approach of the series with numerous features that are unique in this performance class.”
During six years of R&D, the new XERION 12 series was intensively tested on North American and European farms carrying out a variety of applications. Innovations such as the low-engine-speed concept 2.0, the robust and easy-to-use CMATIC continuously variable transmission, 40 km/h top speed for the TERRA TRAC and 50 km/h for the TRAC, the powerful low-speed working hydraulics, the spacious cab with unobstructed all-round visibility and four-point cab suspension in addition to the new, shock-absorbed TERRA TRAC crawler track units, are intended to make farmers' work even more efficient, productive, profitable and comfortable. Thanks to the strong central frame with two steered axles, the unique XERION concept ensures unrivaled steering precision, extreme resilience and balanced weight distribution for uncompromising traction and maximum ground protection.
The XERION 12 series includes the 12.590 and 12.650, which are available as a TERRA TRAC version with triangular crawler track units and, in selected markets, as a TRAC wheel variant with the largest available twin wheel combination for four-wheel tractors. The main sales regions are North America, Europe, Australia and South America.
The award winners will be presented at the ASABE Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference from February 11th to 14th in Louisville, Kentucky (USA).
